Donae Chramosta, owner of The Vintage Contessa in Houston, understands the value of suffering and loss.  She knows that it's a long journey to success; in a recent Q&A with Donae, she said "you have to stay focused on your convictions and be willing to work hard every day."

Setbacks are common in the retail industry, but Donae proves that "with focus and determination, you can overcome anything." There's beauty in being able to "show up with your personal best every day." Donae is known for her creativity, focus, drive, organization, attention to detail, and her strength to reject defeat. 

Donae is a member of the Greater Houston Women's Chamber. She finds "connecting with successful, driven women has given [her] a great network of support and opportunity." Through her continued support she has found "great opportunity to meet like-minded women who are interested in shopping in [her] store."

She, along with her husband Rob, own The Vintage Contessa in Houston. Their inventory is hand-selected by the dynamic pair prior to showing or selling at the boutique. The have extensive experience in purveying and selling luxury goods internationally. Donae mentioned how The Vintage Contessa is "able to provide such a multitude of luxury products including watches, diamonds, signed jewelry, handbags, accessories and more at fair prices with the consideration of world economies".

Pearl Fincher, Philanthropist and Texas Woman Who Made History

Native Texan Pearl Lilley Fincher was born in 1935. She grew up as one of 11 kids to a Baptist preacher and a homemaker in Splendora, TX.  They were extremely poor with most of her siblings and their families staying in the cycle of poverty.  Pearl wanted more.   When she and her husband met and married, between the two of them they had $60 in the bank and working 2 jobs each.  Together they started with a single used automobile business, Fred Fincher Motors in 1959.  At the time of Pearl’s husband’s death in 1996, they had 15 automotive related business operated by their 9 children.

The Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce hosted the SPARK, Igniting Young Leaders launch event at Brooklyn Athletic Club. Over 45 young leaders from different industries in Houston attended the launch event that featured lite bites, drinks, and Bocce ball games.
