Val Gibbs, 2016 Board Chair Reflects on her Year

Val Gibbs was the 2016 Board Chair and a continued supporter of the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce (GHWCC). In her time as chair, she helped take the GHWCC to new heights including 1,000 business members strong and setting a new record for 1,000 attendees at the Annual Women’s Conference.

In an interview with Gibbs, she said “the reason I got involved and what I really reaped from the chamber was long term commitments and relationships with a variety of women from a variety of backgrounds and a variety of industries.”
Being a part of the GHWCC allowed Gibbs to see all the ways “that women support one another” when members “need advice on what [they] should do in [their] own businesses or personal life or just direction and support.”
These relationships enriched Gibbs’ year as Chair and she said “the camaraderie…made it worth it for me.”
